Prediction of Development Trends in the Metal Packaging Industry

2017-07-21 17:21:45
times

At present, the demand for metal packaging in China is very broad, with a large demand, and steel can products will continue to grow. According to statistics, the development of metal packaging in China has been rapid, with a total of 32.642 billion yuan in 2005, a month on month increase of 16.39%, and an added value of 7 billion yuan, a month on month increase of 24.22%. The sales output value reached 32.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42.6%.

Among them, metal packaging, which has become one of the important categories in China's packaging industry, has developed rapidly and is widely used in the food and beverage fields. According to the latest statistics, in 2005, the production of three piece beverage cans, 3.5 billion canned food cans, and 5 billion miscellaneous cans in various types of metal packaging products was 6 billion. From the perspective of metal packaging material consumption, the proportion of metal packaging products, food and beverage, has reached 44%. From the perspective of China's beer industry, the country's beer production reached over 30 million tons in 2005, ranking first in the world. The beverage industry is developing rapidly, resulting in an increasing demand for metal packaging.

The various beverage cans that can be seen everywhere, such as Coca Cola, Red Bull, Lulu, and various canned metal packaging, are increasingly closely related to consumers. Experts believe that user needs should be the guide, and careful research should be conducted on what kind of packaging consumers choose and who chooses to use metal packaging. Therefore, the relationship between metal packaging and consumers is significant. Enterprises need to constantly innovate their products, and packaging design should be humanized to meet the various needs of users for metal packaging. It is reported that China's metal packaging industry has gone through 28 years of reform and opening up, and has now formed a complete metal packaging industrial system including printed iron cans, two-piece cans, steel drums, bottle caps, and aerosol cans, becoming one of the important categories of China's packaging industry. The metal packaging industry has an annual sales revenue of over 5 million yuan, with a total of 555 enterprises of a certain scale, presenting a tripartite pattern of state-owned, foreign-funded, and private enterprises. In recent years, private enterprises have developed rapidly, and some have formed enterprise groups with a certain scale. However, from the perspective of the entire industry, small and medium-sized enterprises account for more than 90%. The situation of small and scattered, small and comprehensive has not been fundamentally solved, and the task of industrial intensive integration is still arduous. The regional distribution of metal packaging enterprises shows that over 70% of them are located in the Pearl River Delta (Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Hainan), Yangtze River Delta (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai), and Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Bohai Bay Economic Zone. In addition, Sichuan, Fujian, and Shandong have relied on the deep processing advantages of agricultural and sideline products to drive the development of metal packaging. According to statistical analysis, the regional distribution is as follows: South China accounts for 40%, East China accounts for 30%, North China accounts for 16%, and other regions account for 14%. This regional distribution structure is mainly determined by the radiation radius of metal packaging products, the distribution of user clusters, and the characteristics of regional economic structure. Although China's metal packaging industry has developed rapidly, the existing problems cannot be ignored. Zhang Hong, Secretary General of the Metal Container Committee of the China Packaging Federation, believes that most of China's metal packaging enterprises are relatively small in scale, with independent intellectual property rights, core competitiveness, and even fewer influential enterprise groups worldwide; There are not many varieties of metal packaging, and generally there is a serious overcapacity in the production capacity of general products. The production capacity of high-quality and high-end products is clearly insufficient, and the overall level is significantly different from that of developed countries' products; The ability for independent innovation is relatively low, and the main technological equipment and core technologies still rely on imports or are controlled by foreign companies; The level of enterprise informatization is low, and there is a serious shortage of metal packaging management and technical talents. When it comes to the future development of the metal packaging industry, experts unanimously believe that the development prospects of the metal packaging industry are promising. To achieve significant development in metal packaging in our country, there must be innovation in technology, assurance in quality, and significant improvement in enterprise management. At present, food safety has received widespread attention, such as the implementation of market access system for food packaging in China, and the implementation of technical quality restrictions on exported food by foreign countries, which have put forward higher requirements for packaging in China. Food production enterprises cannot use food packaging and other products that have not been certified and licensed in food packaging, otherwise they will be severely punished. Therefore, metal packaging production enterprises must attach great importance to safety and quality issues, which requires continuous technological innovation and management improvement. The demand for metal packaging in China's packaging industry has raised higher requirements not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality. During the 11th Five Year Plan period, China's packaging industry will continue to grow rapidly. By 2010, the market size of China's packaging industry will exceed 500 billion yuan, with an average growth rate of 9%. China's metal packaging is expected to reach about 50 billion yuan, which also brings metal packaging into a new period of growth opportunities. Metal packaging products are abundant, with a wide range of applications and huge development space.
